Many within B1 have adopted a 'rhythm of life', a simple yet meaningful commitment to a pattern of living, which helps us embody the five values of our community, drawing us closer to God, one another and to our world. Each value has an associated practice related to it.

Practice: To foster an awareness of God’s presence in our lives
by daily or weekly individual practice of the Prayer of Review
Nurturing

Where struggles can be honestly share

In which we encourage one another to become more like Jesus
Practice: Intentional blessing of one person within and without B1 each week.
Examples of blessings might include: an encouraging word, a kind email or card,
an offer of help, a coffee or a letter.
Community

Committed to demonstrating the selfless love of Jesus

Where we share each other’s lives

In which we treat one another with grace
Practice: To eat or drink with someone from B1 and someone outside B1 once a month.
This may include a shared B1 meal, coffee, lunch or a pint!
Acceptance

That wants to reflect God’s hospitality to all

That encourages faith as a journey, not a destination

That allows doubt and creates room for mystery
Practice:We will commit to engage or chat with someone we don’t know well
Equipping
We are a church

Where we identify and develop each other’s gifts

Inspired by the stories of God’s work among us

That takes risks to be involved in God’s mission and service to the world
Practice: To commit to a regular pattern of prayerful bible reading, for example,
looking at a couple of gospel chapters a week
