LIVING GOD, LIVING COMMUNITY, LIVING DIFFERENTLY
At B1, we're a a community finding and strengthening Christian faith within contemporary cultures. We're trying to find ways of being church differently in a world that moves so fast. Many of us experience disconnection between our everyday cultural worlds and church, so at B1 we try to ensure our worship is a truer expression of our culture. Sometimes it's informal, sometimes reflective, sometimes celebratory, but we always try to respond to God creatively. There's space for the symbolic, for reflection, silence, mystery and ritual, along with variety in styles of music. Our worship has different flavours at different times.
You'll find B1 a Christian community where it's easy to belong and observe while you work out what you believe about God. We believe Jesus Christ to be good news for every generation and culture, but that growing faith needs space for questioning and facing doubt. We are keen to understand culture and to explore how the Christian faith connects with contemporary life. Discussion and dialogue are important to us and groups like Spirited Exchange and Illumine provide informal forums for exploration of faith and spirituality.
Whether you're checking out faith for the first time or whether you're spiritual but switched off traditional church, you'll find a welcome and acceptance with us. B1 is a community in which the real sharing of lives and stories matters. Genuine spiritual friendship is a strong value for us. We have a vision for facilitating conversations about faith and belief in Jesus Christ in the context of genuine relationships.
